Milthaler, the Director of the Women's Chorus of
the 2006
Greater Cincinnati Harmony Festival, is currently acting director of
choral activities at Kings
High School, where she directs four choirs (two mixed and two for
girls) and teaches a combined music history and theory class. While
pursuing two master's degrees in the fields of choral conducting and
music education at the University of Cincinnati, College- Conservatory
of Music, she was the recipient of the 2004 University of Cincinnati
Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award. As an undergraduate student at
Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, she was awarded the 1999 Ohio
Music Education Association Award. She performed throughout North America and Europe as a member of the most prestigious choruses at both universities. Her studies in choral conducting have led her to work with such professionals as Dr. Earl Rivers, Dr. Stephen Coker, Dr. John Leman, Dr. Hank Dahlman, Dr. James Tipps, and Professor David L. Keener. She has also studied under Dale Warland and had the opportunity to work with and direct the world-renowned Dale Warland Singers. Mrs. Milthaler was formerly the Assistant Choral Director at Dixie High School in the New Lebanon Local School District. Her choirs performed for school and community, and received Excellent and Superior ratings in both District and State level OMEA Festivals. She is also the vocal director for all Kings High School musical productions. In her time at Kings and in her past positions, she has helped with such musicals as "The Music Man," "Bye, Bye Birdie," "Annie Get Your Gun," "Godspell," and "Damn Yankees." In her spare time, she sings with the worship team at Ginghamsburg Church in Tipp City, Ohio, and teaches private voice and piano in her home.
