Choreographer, Men's Chorus

Gary Ellerhorst 200px   Within the first year of joining Southern  Gateway Chorus in 1986, Gary Ellerhorst became involved in show production and the old "stage presence" category. Working with Pat Iasillo, he began writing scripts, performing character roles and designing choreography for the chorus' yearly show, and assumed the overall show production in the early '90s.

At that time, Gary also became heavily involved in choreography for the chorus contest, including Southern Gateway's 1992 International Chorus Championship. Although family, business and quartet activity has limited the time he could dedicate to barbershop presentation, he has managed to work with several choruses and quartets in the Cincinnati area. This is Gary's second year as choreographer for the Harmony Festival's Young Men's Chorus.

He still handles most of the presentation development for shows and performances with Southern Gateway, and works with contracted Presentation Category specialists for the chorus' international contests.

Gary's quartet activity started with his dad and brothers in "The E Team", and continued with "Chord Gallery" and "Swing Fever" until he was asked to join "Rumors" in 1996. This popular quartet made numerous appearances in international competition, and twice were top-10 International Quartet Finalists.

Gary currently lives in Cincinnati with his wife Polina, and 4 year old daughter, Nadya.
