Nick Gordon is currently a Music Education major at Bowling Green State University. He got his first taste of Barbershop harmony when he was 14 and has been hooked ever since. In 2005 his high school quartet, OverTone, won The Greater Cincinnati High School Quartet Championship, and finished first in the men's division of the Johnny Appleseed District High School Quartet contest.
Nick is currently singing baritone with the reigning collegiate champion quartet Prestige. He has been the baritone section leader of many barbershop youth camps over the years, and we are happy to bring him back for his second year as our Young Men's Director. He is very excited to be given the opportunity to give back to, and make music with, the talented youth that we have in our society.
The Greater Cincinnati Harmony Festival is pleased to welcome Debbie Cleveland to our faculty for the second year. Debbie is the choral director at Gaither High School in Tampa, Florida, where she serves 165 students each year with a full program that includes three choruses, and SHOWCASE, a pop music ensemble consisting of sixteen singers accompanied by a live ten-piece band.
Under Debbie's leadership, her choirs have maintained consistent overall 'Superior' ratings at yearly District MPAs for 25 straight years. SHOWCASE 2010 was selected as featured performer at 2010 FMEA state convention, and the Gaither Concert Chorus was selected and performed four times in New York City cathedrals. Before Debbie took the position at Gaither High School, she built the Adams Jr. High program from one class of 30 into four choirs with 175 singers.
Debbie currently performs as the lead singer of the 2005 International Champion Quartet "the BUZZ," and previously won gold as the lead singer of the 1994 International Champion Quartet "Showtime." She is also a studio singer for Warner Bros. promotional materials for educational choral publications.
Debbie is a much sought after Coach/Teacher/Performer, with "Showtime" and "the BUZZ" appearing all over the U.S., Canada, England, Scotland, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. She is also a Certified International Faculty member of Sweet Adelines, International, and has been a Guest Clinician for Youth Harmony Festivals in Florida, Tennessee, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Georgia and California.
We are proud to bring Debbie to Cincinnati again this year.
