Brody McDonald is
in his eleventh year of teaching at Kettering Fairmont High School, and
his sixth year as director of the Harmony Festival Young Men's
Chorus. He holds a
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Master’s degree in Choral
Conducting from Bowling Green State University. While at BGSU, Mr.
McDonald was an assistant conductor of the University Men’s Chorus and
Collegiate Chorale. He also performed numerous lead roles in the opera
theater program including Mr. Maurant in Street Scene, Leporello in Don
Giovanni, and Carl Magnus in A Little Night Music. His proudest moment, however, was representing BGSU in the 1995 International College Barbershop Quartet Champion, Stop the Presses. After his education at Bowling Green, Mr. McDonald served as the Director of Choral/Vocal Activities at Sinclair Community College. It was during this time that he formed the quartet Turning Point, which has been ranked among the top 20 quartets in the world, and has been featured on the PBS special, Can’t Stop Singing. Mr. McDonald’s duties in Kettering include directing Illusion Show Choir, Symphonic Chorale, Concert Choir, Treble Choir, as well as the vocal jazz groups, Eleventh Hour and Fusion prior to the Fairmont Entertainment Company. Mr. McDonald also directs the Spring Musical and 7th and 8th grade chorus at Van Buren Middle School. Mr. McDonald is celebrating his 5th year of marriage, and would like to thank his lovely wife, Marty, for her love and support. |
